Injunction Against Apple Watch?

As we all know, injunctions are virtually impossible to obtain in federal patent litigation. However, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) routinely issues injunctions. Combining the threat of an injunction with the extremely aggressive trial schedule, the ITC may be the choice if a patent holder wants to place extreme pressure on a defendant.

A U.S. federal trade agency on Thursday found that Apple AAPL -2.46%decrease; red down pointing triangle violated the patent of a rival tech company, a ruling that could lead to an import ban for certain models of the company’s smartwatch.
