Seminar on Health and Data Privacy at Black Tech Week

Excited to see the impact that speaking at Black Tech Week this past July has had on my audience.  I had the privilege of hosting a seminar on health and data privacy where I discussed the intersection of race and the ethical use of health data, as well as the current stream of regulations concerning health data, including HIPAA, the FTC’s breach notification rule and new state privacy laws.  The discussion focused particularly on the importance of determining when HIPAA regulation ends and the FTC, health-specific and state comprehensive privacy laws take over.
